Where can I find trail maps for Banff National Park?
Do they give brochures or maps at the entrance to the park or the visitor center? Is there an online source – I like to be prepared in advance.
Thank you.

What is a good 4 to 7 day backpacking trip near Banff, Alberta?
I’m trying to convince some friends to get away from the world for a week and come hiking and camping in Banff National park (or another park near Calgary). What are some good routes or open camping areas near there. Even a book suggestion would be great.

Banff In The Winter, Alberta, Canada
The western section of the Canadian Rockies, Northwest of Calgary, is one of Canada’s most spectacular regions. Banff National Park is one of four adjoining mountain parks that comprise some 5200-square miles of Rocky Mountain landscape. Banff comes to life in the winter as it fills with skiers and snowboarders headed for Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Mount Norquay. It starts snowing in October, so skating and cross-country ski conditions are ideal for more than half the year.
Cell Phone and Internet Access in Glacier, Banff, and Jasper National Parks?
Hi – I’ll be traveling to Glacier National Park in Montana, and Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta in a few days. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to use my cell phone (Cingular/AT&T) or access e-mail & internet at all while I’m away. Does anyone know:
1. Does Cingular/AT&T cell phone service work in these areas (and/or does it cost a ton, being in Canada), and
2. Where can I access free e-mail and Internet in these parks? I do have a laptop with wireless internet access.
Thanks!!!!

When driving from Jasper National Park to Kamloops which is the best road for scenery?
Hi and thanks for reading and hopefully you can help.
My husband and I will be travelling from Australia to Canada in April 2010 and will be driving from Calgary to Vancouver. We are going to stop in Banff and then either go to Lake Louise and stay over or go right on to Jasper.
We then have the option to drive from Jasper to Kamloops using BC-Yellowhead Highway/Highway 16 or come back the way we came from Jasper, stop overnight in Lake Louise and then travel on to Kamloops on Highway 93 and then Highway 1.
My question is, which route has the better scenery? Yellowhead/Highway 16 or Highway 93/Highway 1?
Thanks

Visiting Canada in February and staying in Banff. Just wondering what an ‘average’ beer and meal costs?
Also any recommendations greatly appreciated. If there is a nice place to eat or drink as a one off I’d like to know about that too! Thank you.
