Skiing/Snowboarding in Sunshine Village or Lake Louise?

I have been to both and I definitely liked Sunshine Village better. But I have only gone to Lake Louise once so I could be misjudging it. Which do you like better and why?

I am applying to Fairmont Hotel this summer. Any other info on the town of banff would help?
I can’t rent a car so does the airport in Calgary have a shuttle bus to Banff or something like that?

Mount Fairview Summit (9003ft) - Canadian Rockies - Amelyn Chong & Hock Aun 2010

Hiked up Mount Fairview on 3rd Oct 2010. Started to rain and strong winds came. Could not keep balance in the strong winds and had to hide behind some rocks. Thank God rain and wind stopped after about 20 minutes and we were able get to the summit in clear weather. Great views from the summit!

UFO 'Ball of Lightning' Orb - Canmore, Alberta - May 21, 2011

This is the first time that I’ve seen and managed to film this red/orange/green/blue Orb for such a long period of time. The best I can describe it is that it was like a contained ball of multicolor lightning. It appeared, I noticed, began filming with my Panasonic HDC-TM700 HD camera mounted to my Velbon video tripod and then it disappeared. About to pack it in and call it a night; it came back suddenly and I continued recording. It was very bright, barely moved and was hovering VERY low around the houses here. I pulled back the video frame a little so you could see the entire picture without thinking I’m super-zoomed in or something. This time round, it looked like a ball of electrical energy. Anyone else here in Canmore see anything like this over the long-weekend?

American money & credit cards in Banff & Jasper National Parks (Canada)?

Hi – I’ll be driving to Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta, Canada in a few days. I’ve already made reservations for campsites, but will need to pay for gas, park admission, and miscellaneous food and expenses while in the parks. To pay for things like this (particularly in Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, and then throughout southern Canada on the drive back home to Wisconsin), will I:

A) Be able to use my Visa debit card like I can at home in the US,
B) Need to bring along a lot of cash and convert to Canadian dollars, or
C) Just be able to bring along American dollars and spend it like in the US?

Thanks for any help – I haven’t traveled in Canada much at all!!

how long did it take for the Canadian Rockies to form? Was it a slow or fast formation?

Was the formation a sudden occurance or would they have taken a long time to form. Any ideas what it would have been like to be in the area when the mountains actually form as I understand that at one time the mountains would have been under an ocean.

When is the best time to visit Glacier National Park, and/or Banff and Jasper?

Is a trip in late May or early June too early to visit these national parks? Will there be too much snow, will roads be closed, or will snow banks be too high to enjoy the scenery? Is it better to visit in July or August?
