How do you lease a condo in Canmore?
Who do I contact? Many real estate agents in town don’t have leasing listing on their website.
Looking for a 1 bed or a studio that’s fairly affordable. Thanks in advance.

Entry from: Jasper, Canada Entry Title: “The Icefields Parkway and Jasper National Park” Entry: “22nd April 2010 Overnight the temperature in Banff dropped drastically and we awoke to a layer of ice inside the car windows. Unfortunately, we also awoke to very grey skies which was a shame as today we were heading up the Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park. Not deterred by the weather, we set off and first stop was Lake Louise. Having seen postcards with picture perfect images of this lake, we were a little disheartened by the very un-photogenic view that greeted us; a completely frozen, grey, misty, wet, cold sight. Spurred on by the never dwindling enthusiasm of a coach load of Japanese tourists, we took some snaps, soaked up the surroundings and marvelled at the huge snow drifts blocking up the roads and most of the carpark. The frozen, grey, misty, wet, cold theme pretty much continued throughout the rest of our drive up one of the most scenic routes in the world! The glaciers, frozen lakes and rivers, and Columbia Icefield didn’t fail to impress us at all and were absolutely awesome despite the weather. The entire area is wild and untamed and apart from the road, and of course tourists like us, there is no trace of mankind whatsoever in this part of the world. We arrived in Jasper town …

Hans even had room to strap a 12-pack of Kokanee beer onto his bike for the ride to camp. These are a couple highlights from his week-long trip from Central Oregon, through Washington, British Columbia and back.

Leaving Banff
Tuesday 18th Aug 2009 Up well before dawn to see Venus and a very old crescent moon hanging in the gathering light of dawn. A spectacular sight over forest. Hit the road and by the time I got to the Athabasca glacier (only about half an hour later) the sky was clouding in. In the grey light I was the first in the glacier car park. Flight conditions were near perfect. The short walk up to the glacier was made more fun by the 1980 marker (about the last time I stood here) some 300m short of the present end of the glacier. Flight went well, very well. The glacier was big and open, and bar crashing on the glacier there was little that you could do wrong, although it was clear from my shortness of breath that this place was quite high. Landing was sloppy given the excellent conditions. Headed back to the Wilcox pass trailhead (it was originally the plan to do this first, but the glacier was just too much of a target of opportunity). I had bumped into some guy at Lake Louise the day before who had given the trail rave reviews as the hike to put all other hikes to shame. On the trail by 8.30, that put me at the second person on the trail. The hike was steep in the trees to begin with, and the weather cool, and increasing gloomy as the cloud cover increased. After only about half an hour I had cleared the trees and there were excellent views of the icefields opposite. However as I neared the top of the pass this was largely obscured by hills in the foreground. On what I assumed …

"Jasper and Jasper National Park" Crossroadcanada's photos around Castle Mountain, Canada
Preview of Crossroadcanada’s blog at TravelPod. Read the full blog here: www.travelpod.com This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Castle Mountain, Canada Entry Title: “Jasper and Jasper National Park” Entry: “Somewhere coming through the Yellow head pass the watershed changed. Instead of the mighty Fraser tumbling down to the Pacific we now found ourselves travelling alongside the Miette, a rushing little river flowing eastward, that quickly grew in strength the closer we got to the town of Jasper. Here it flows into the mighty Athabasca River, that itself continues on for thousands of miles, picking up many rivers along the way, eventually flowing through Great Slave Lake, and then itself being swallowed up by the Mackenzie River, eventually flowing into the Arctic Ocean by Inuvik! What an incredible watershed. The town of Jasper sits at the point where the Miette enters the Athabasca. It was originally built as a fur trading post for fur coming East from West of the Rockies through the Yellowhead pass. Later when the railroad arrived in 1912, it quickly became a destination of choice for wealthy tourists of the time. Jasper is the only town in Jasper National Park. The entire park including Jasper along with Banff National Park, Kootenay National Park, and Yoho National Park, (all adjoining each other) is designated a World Heritage Site. It is easy to see why nearly two million tourists travel here each …
