I want my honeymoon to be romantic and fun; we were thinking about Cancun but we cannot find a room in January through an exchange with my parent’s timeshare. We found a very nice resort in Canmore, Alberta and it looks really cool and fun but I’m not completely sure if it will be a good idea to go there in January…Has anyone been there anytime close to the winter months? I’m considering visiting the Canadian rockies in the late spring. I’ve been there 3 times already, but all during late June when the weather’s pleasant and warm in the 60-70s…snow on the mountains but it did not snow.
I’d like to know how the weather will be in late May (last week of May). Does it still snow then? I’d like to avoid having to put chains on the car to travel from Banff to Jasper.

Any recommendations of an itinerary for a week long camping/hiking trip from Vancouver to Banff/Lake Louise?
Looking for must-see sights and great hikes in the Banff/Lake Louise/Jasper area. We only have a week to make the round-trip from Vancouver. Is there anywhere along the way that is worth stopping for a day? We are big hikers and want as much natural beauty as possible! Also looking for recommended campgrounds – preferrably tent-only places, but we do like flush toilets and showers. Thanks for your help!

My friend and I are planning to visit the West coast of the US in August/September this year, and would really like to ‘do’ both the Grand Canyon and the Canadian Rockies in the same trip. How long should we give ourselves? Would it be best to see the Grand Canyon first and then go north, or see the Rockies first, then head south? Which airport in the Rockies is best as a starting/finishing point?

A man suspected in a string of armed holdups was shot dead in a Monday afternoon shootout with Canmore Mounties.
