A man suspected in a string of armed holdups was shot dead in a Monday afternoon shootout with Canmore Mounties. The fatal shooting, at a busy intersection surrounded by supermarkets and other businesses, occurred about 75 minutes after a woman was robbed at gunpoint inside a salon. Rick Donkers reports.
