Anyone have any recommendations for affordable accomodations in Canmore or area for a holiday trip?

My husband and I want to take some holidays at the end of Sept. to Canmore. Any ideas on affordable and comfortable accomodations? What to see and what to do? We want to have a great time but some of the accomodations are incredibly expensive..
